Dorothy Ahlgren Franklin is the Officer in Charge of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police National Youth Strategy. This article presents her answers to questions put to her by Lenore Richards. After talking about her career path leading to being the Officer in Charge of this initiative, Franklin talks about the federal priority on youth and the RCMP role in that; crime prevention through social development; the variety of RCMP youth programs and activities; the importance of the local community in tailoring RCMP’s specific responses to youth crime and victimization; and the connection between the RCMP’s strategy on youth and other RCMP priorities.
