Debbie Roberts urges members of the Church of the Brethren to lead in the areas of justice, peace, and conflict transformation. In this regard, beginning with Sally McFague’s view of resurrection as a feminist theological grounding for a vision of the interdependence of all life, she connects McFague’s view with the discipline of conflict resolution. This stands in contrast to more common approaches to conflict resolution, which Roberts critiques as white, male, and Eurocentric. To develop her points, she summarizes key aspects of McFague’s metaphorical theology, proposes how resurrection thus understood ties into the health of our planet and all people, and draws out implications for conflict resolution in particular.
