A Review of International Models for Indigenous Child Protection.

This review touches on the legislative framework for conferencing in the New South Wales Young Offenders Act 1997. According to the Re-Integrative Shaming Experiments (RISE), offenders who have gone through the conferencing have given positive feedback about the restorative justice process. Also, victims who have participated in conferences believe that the sense of restorative justice is higher in conferences than in the courts. Also, a report listed in this review suggests that restorative justice principles should be used to prevent offending and reoffending by indigenous youth.
