Violence Within Relationships

Mary Phillips begins this article by summarizing the nature of domestic violence and citing key, relevant statistics. She maintains that domestic violence is a vital subject for relational justice because such violence is by definition a crime committed in the context of a relationship. To deal effectively with this violence, multi-agency partnerships are vital to serving victims of domestic violence through the criminal justice process. She describes efforts at developing and employing such partnerships across England, with particular focus on the Thames Valley Partnership and its efforts to reduce and prevent domestic violence through a dramatic exploration of relationships.
