This article addresses the issue of victim-offender conferencing, particularly focusing on female juvenile offenders. The article explores the position of young women in the criminal justice system, followed by discussion of the appropriateness of juvenile victim-offender conferencing for both young men and women. The article questions the appropriateness of victim-offender conferencing and looks at significant injustices for young, female offenders. The author highlights power imbalances, a lack of neutrality and other factors that suggest young women may be disadvantaged by conferencing. (Online abstract.)
