This project in Essex County, England, is intended to restore the equilibrium to victims of crime and young people who have offended against them. The model of intervention to achieve this aim is the family group conference process based on a restorative justice approach to wrongdoing and conflict. Following an introduction to restorative justice and the basic framework for family group conferences, this document provides both an overview of the project’s principles and a detailed outline of the conference process (participants; preparation; conduct of the conference; and post conference actions).
Your donation helps Prison Fellowship International repair the harm caused by crime by emphasizing accountability, forgiveness, and making amends for prisoners and those affected by their actions. When victims, offenders, and community members meet to decide how to do that, the results are transformational.
