Aims
1 To provide an account of a particular working within group research network funded by the European Union
2 To describe issues in the development of theory in a new area of legal philosophy and socio-legal practice.
Objectives
1. Explore how the group has devised a system of working through a number of problematics or
controversies which require resolution
2. Explore difficulties of providing an overview of RJ theory using conventional approaches of taxonomy:
• Delineating types of theory
• Identifying theoretical developments relating to different disciplines
• Literature reviews
For us it raises, as a general question, whether engagement in the development of theory is a useful strategy in
promoting the profile of academic institutions who are seeking to encourage research. (excerpt)
