“On January 25-27, the first expert group meeting of the AGIS Project “Restorative justice: an agenda for Europe,” also known as “Going South”, concerned with meeting the challenges of RJ in Southern Europe (SE) took place in Bordeaux. Experts from Turkey, Portugal, Malta, Spain, Italy and Greece together with one expert from France and one from Belgium were able to meet in a very warm and welcoming enviornment that was offered by the hosting agency Citoyens et Justice. The goals of this first stage of the project were to study the principal features that characterise the situation of RJ in Southern European countries and to identify the main needs which should be tackled to support a better implementation process.” (excerpt)
