Carolyn Boyes-Watson brings the wisdom of the Circle as the medicine for youth at risk. She documents the Circle as a philosophy, an ecological method of relating, and a healing intervention with youth, bringing them to responsibility. In our time, we know clearly that punishment only makes youth obedient. To transform youth into responsible youth and young adults requires the alchemy of respectful discipline. The writing of Carolyn Boyes-Watson uses the wisdom of the Circle to construct peace in the hearts of youth. Such youth do not need rules and laws to guide them from the outside. A mature heart guides them from their center. Confidant, courageous youth will result from using the ideas gathered and expressed by Carolyn Boyes-Watson.
