My thanks to Nils for his challenge to use all: it is important to continually rethink the basic issues we are advocating and the effectiveness of our ways of framing the debate. However, at this point in time we need to acknowledge that the concept ‘restorative justice’ has a currency and a special meaning different from its constituent parts: it has come to mean an emphasis on inclusion of all participants in decisions about responses to conflict that focus on repairing and healing the harm and restoring the sense of community and, to the extent that it is possible, the ability of all to live safe and constructive lives. It has generated debates by reframing justice options both in practice and in theory throughout the world. (excerpt)
Your donation helps Prison Fellowship International repair the harm caused by crime by emphasizing accountability, forgiveness, and making amends for prisoners and those affected by their actions. When victims, offenders, and community members meet to decide how to do that, the results are transformational.
