The research objectives are to
- Determine whether or not the restorative justice concept can be acceptable to women as a feasible alternative criminal justice response to sexual violence
- Collect empirical evidence to substantiate the positive claims of proponents and the negative concerns of critics held in relation to the use of restorative practices in handling sexual violence cases
- Use the empirical findings on participants’ perspectives to identify potential problems and tensions that may emerge in applying restorative justice in this area.
As a part of her research, she has put together a
survey for women between the ages of 18 and 45 asking their thoughts on restorative processes in response to sexual violence.
