Liz Harris recounts her experience as a Community Group Conference facilitator in a community restorative justice pilot program in New Zealand. On this basis, and with reference to Howard Zehr’s Changing Lenses: A New Focus for Crime and Justice, she discusses the difference between retributive and restorative justice, workplace violence and restorative justice, the importance of the victim in restorative justice, and primary principles of community group conferences.
