A ‘Just and Caring Society’

Presbyterian Support Otago is a social agency that runs a variety of initiatives aimed at creating a “just and caring society.â€? It is one of the provider groups taking part in a court-referred restorative justice pilot in Dunedin, New Zealand. As such, Presbyterian Support Otago is running a trial of a post-conference monitoring system. The aim is to follow through after a restorative justice conference process to identify what support is needed to ensure that conference agreements are accomplished. This article summarizes the work of Presbyterian Support Otago and the trial of the monitoring system.
