Turgeon outlines the offender service programs developed to aid aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander offenders survive incarceration. These include building community ties and pride through family days, elder visitations, arts programs, and a Murrie Chaplaincy. These programs have seen a decrease in the number of deaths in prison.
