ACPO share the vision articulated in the consultation document on the potential
of restorative justice as an integral part of the criminal justice system. We also
acknowledge and share the hope that the use of restorative practices may
expand beyond the criminal justice arena into the much wider setting of schools,
the care and protection of children, and into other problems that affect people’s
lives directly enough for them to want to participate. (excerpt)
