Adult prisoner and victim mediation
was jointly commissioned by the
Sheppey Prison Cluster (Kent) and
Kent Probation in 2008. This initiative
between HM Prison Service Sheppey
Cluster, Kent Probation and the
Mediation Services of Kent and
Medway builds on joint work already
undertaken and takes forward the
shared priority of improving an
offender’s victim empathy to promote a
reduction in re-offending and enable
them to resettle more effectively into
society. It also aims to reduce the fear
of crime for the victim in allowing them
to safely confront their issues about a
crime committed against them. (excerpt)

Your donation helps Prison Fellowship International repair the harm caused by crime by emphasizing accountability, forgiveness, and making amends for prisoners and those affected by their actions. When victims, offenders, and community members meet to decide how to do that, the results are transformational.
