The Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony initiated a research project on reconciliation for adult offenders and victims within criminal law. This project offers a change to investigate the strained relations between the interests of victims and offenders within the possibilities and limitation of present law. The purpose is to estimate margins and impediments of programs admitting participation in order to analyze possible opposition of practitioners and to confirm alteration processes. The project and collaborative teams are described.
