Call for nominees for the Livia Prize 2010

April 1, 2010

We are looking for award nominees: Individuals or initiatives who take action in the conflicts that occur in society and who have been able to create constructive communication between the striving parts. People or groups preventing a conflict from escalating into violence or deflating an already violent conflict and instead create dialogue and possibilities for negotiations. Or initiatives that support a reconciliation process, so peace, healing and coexistence become possible.

The examples are many, but only rarely do they reach the front pages of the news. This is where the Livia Foundation is working to make a difference. We will make the creative thoughts and solutions known to a larger public, by drawing attention and giving a voice to people working within creative conflict resolution.

If you know of any such people or groups, please inform us. We would highly appreciate it if you could also forward this letter to anybody, who you think can assist in finding the best candidates for the Livia Award.

Many nominees are needed. By naming a nominee you contribute to demonstrating ways of dealing with conflicts in society. You help bring stories into the spotlight that bring inspiration and hope to others.

Note: the deadline for nominations in April 20, 2010. For information on how to make nominations, check out the website.
