It only became central to community safety strategies in the late 1980s in Canada. In view of the easy acceptance of its importance, Hastings raises certain challenges, especially relating to the capacity of communities for crime prevention and the accountability of communities for their own safety and security.
Your donation helps Prison Fellowship International repair the harm caused by crime by emphasizing accountability, forgiveness, and making amends for prisoners and those affected by their actions. When victims, offenders, and community members meet to decide how to do that, the results are transformational.
