Wilkinson contends that corrections departments can and should play an active role in promoting justice in their correctional systems. He says that’s through a more balanced approach known as community justice. He then identifies important restorative justice attributes already present in the existing Ohio correctional system: Victim Services, Community Service, Community Partnerships, and Educational and work opportunities. Wilkinson goes on to promote additional restorative correctional activities in the Ohio system and explains the infrastructure that the Dept. of Corrections has implemented to develop and oversee restorative programs.
