Daly explores the history of conferencing in New Zealand and Australia. She exposes the similarities and differences between the two countries as well as the jurisdictions within Australia. Both the Waga and New Zealand models are explained as are the myths about the conferencing movement in the two countries. She challenges the idea that conferencing is a direct descendent of indigenous practices. She explores the research that has been done and suggests further possibilities.
