Criminal justice conferencing calls for caution

Understanding family group conferencing as a natural development from victim-offender mediation, Marshall sees great promise in conferencing. At the same time, he cautions that there are dangers as well as benefits in family group conferencing. To ensure the promise of conferencing, the dangers must be recognized and addressed. Marshall therefore outlines in this article several challenges and risks associated with the application of family group conferencing.
