In this article, Susan Currie reviews Chappell and Wilson’s Crime and the Criminal Justice System in Australia: 2000 and Beyond, a selection of writings on aspects of the criminal justice system in Australia. The authors of the chapters in the book consist of academics and researchers in Australia. Topics in the book include reform of the criminal law and restorative justice, trends in crime, law enforcement and adjudication, critical issues in crime and justice policy, and criminal justice and the future. Currie surveys the chapters in the book and offers her own perspectives on the topics engaged by the authors.
