The mission of JUSTPEACE Center for Mediation and Conflict Transformation is to prepare and assist United Methodists to engage conflict constructively in ways that strive for justice, reconciliation, resource preservation, and restoration of community in the Church and in the world. This document is a product of that mission. It consists of two major parts. The first part focuses on individual preparation for conflict transformation. The second part focuses on engaging others in conflict transformation. Resources in the document include identification and elaboration of theological, ethical, and relational principles; quotations from the Bible and other sources; processes for dealing with conflict constructively; short, relevant stories or incidents; a bibliography; and a list of organizations that provide training in conflict transformation.
Your donation helps Prison Fellowship International repair the harm caused by crime by emphasizing accountability, forgiveness, and making amends for prisoners and those affected by their actions. When victims, offenders, and community members meet to decide how to do that, the results are transformational.
