The Minnesota Department of Corrections has produced a set of practical materials for people training to facilitate restorative group conferences. Lesson 2 deals with conferencing and restorative justice. Subjects covered by this lesson include the following: lesson objectives; three basic responses to harm or wrongdoing; a sketch of two ways or lenses for viewing crime; core principles of restorative justice; primary stakeholders; the role of conferencing; signposts of restorative justice; examples of restorative practices; evolution of conferencing; and goals of restorative justice.

This lesson is supplemented by other lessons and related materials, also produced by the Minnesota Department of Corrections.
