The Authors discuss the National Institute of Crime Prevention and Reintegration’s use of diversion programs. Although mentioning the five programs run by NICRO, family group conferencing is discussed in detail. Pointing out the importance that an offender take responsibility for his or her actions, the authors outline the procedure, involvement of supporters, and the decision making procedures.
