The Conflict Transformation Program at Eastern Mennonite University (Harrisonburg, Virginia) offers a Summer Peacebuilding Institute for interested people from around the world. Many who would like to attend are not able to do so for a variety of reasons, and at this point the Conflict Transformation Program does not have the means to offer the Institute in other parts of the world. Nevertheless, a number of people from the Philippines who had attended the Institute in Virginia at some point, developed and conducted their own Mindanao Peacebuilding Institute in Mindanao (Philippines). This enabled many from Southeast Asia to participate in two weeks of classes and discussions about peacebuilding, with emphasis on issues specific to their countries. This article provides an overview of the those two weeks of the Mindanao Peacebuilding Institute.

Your donation helps Prison Fellowship International repair the harm caused by crime by emphasizing accountability, forgiveness, and making amends for prisoners and those affected by their actions. When victims, offenders, and community members meet to decide how to do that, the results are transformational.
