As part of a set of materials on restorative justice, developed in connection with a worldwide observation of Restorative Justice Week, the Correctional Service Canada provides this basic resource kit. It is a tool for people who want to understand restorative justice better and promote restorative justice in their communities. The sections of the manual are organized into the following subjects: understanding restorative justice (the need for restorative justice, basic ideas, models or practices of restorative justice; indicators of restorative justice); mobilizing a community (actions that can be taken to promote restorative justice); resources for communications (public service announcements, news releases, question and answer sheets, fact sheets); resources for youth and children (e.g., role-playing); people and organizations with additional resources; and print, audio-video, and Internet resources.
Your donation helps Prison Fellowship International repair the harm caused by crime by emphasizing accountability, forgiveness, and making amends for prisoners and those affected by their actions. When victims, offenders, and community members meet to decide how to do that, the results are transformational.
