This item is part of the Restorative Justice On-Line Notebook. The notebook is an online resource for promotion of restorative justice. It grew out of five regional symposia held in the United States in 1997 and 1998; the symposia were organized and hosted by the Office of Justice Programs in the U.S. Department of Justice. In this section of the notebook are a number of practical tips for action planning in seeking to change a local justice system toward a more restorative system. The specific focus of the tips relates to the interaction between community and government in moving toward a restorative justice approach.
