Source: (2000) In Mediation in Context, ed. Marian Liebmann, 9-18. With an introduction by Marian Liebmann. London: Jessica Kingsley Publishers.

In this introduction to the book she edited, Liebmann provides a survey of mediation for the reader of the volume, as well as an overview of the book itself. Her introduction covers the contemporary rise of mediation, definition of key terms, a summary of benefits and limits of mediation, a discussion of mediation in relation to issues of justice, and a sketch of mediation processes. It is a succinct and valuable introduction to modern ideas and practices of mediation.
