Justice That Restores: How Reparations Must Be Made

Botman, Russel
June 4, 2015

Source: (1997) Track Two 6(3&4).

Botman explores the relationship between justice and reconciliation. He makes clear that the two terms are not synonymous. He asserts that reconciliation replaces the culture of revenge not justice. He sees the problems with the TRC granting amnesty in that offenders do not have the responsibility of not offending again. Botman also explores the issues of reparation and the forms that it should take.
