Serving in Angola as country representatives and peace consultants for Mennonite Central Committee, Krista Rigalo and her husband also periodically facilitate courses at Mindolo Ecumenical Foundation (MEF) in Kitwe, Zambia. Their first opportunity to assist at MEF coincided with the two-month training program of the African Peacebuilding Institute. In this article, Rigalo reports on the facilitation instruction she and her husband provided at MEF and the Institute, as well on what they learned anew about facilitation from their time in Kitwe. In particular she shares what they gained from African participants with respect to facilitating processes of trauma healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
