Sally Engle Merry maintains that the nature and practice of conflict resolution take shape within and manifest particular cultural frameworks. On this basis, she explores Mennonite peacebuilding and conflict transformation to identify how they differ from other forms of conflict resolution. Her analysis deals with Mennonite religious beliefs, conceptions of community, and theories of social justice as they influence the practice of conflict resolution.
