The Nebraska Dispute Resolution Act of 1991 created the Office of Dispute Resolution (ODR), organized under the Administrative Office of the Courts. This annual report presents information on the operations of ODR from July 2000 through June 2001. In a public/private partnership, ODR works with six non-profit mediation centers to provide dispute resolution services to the entire state of Nebraska. The report includes the following information: an overview of ODR’s organization and operations, including summaries of the non-profit mediation centers; descriptions of the Nebraska model of public/private partnership to deliver mediation services; mediators in Nebraska; the ODR Training Institute; and types of mediation services offered by the centers (e.g., family group conferencing, and mediation in juvenile justice cases).
