This article details the Mediation and the Criminal Justice System Report published annual by the Northern Territory Law Reform Committee. A recent report by the Committee recommended the use of conflict-offender mediation in the Northern Territory. Guidelines for the mediation have been set up by the report, including suitable offences and need for a consenting victim. Sub-committees are currently working on other forms of conflict mediation in the context of family and domestic disputes and Aboriginal issues.
