As Guillermo Kerber points out, the World Council of Churches has focused on four themes as part of its contribution to the Decade to Overcome Violence: Churches Seeking Reconciliation and Peace. One theme relates to issues of justice. In this essay Kerber reflects on one dimension of justice. He seeks to show the links between violence and justice, as well as to develop certain thoughts on the background of restorative justice, a theoretical framework for the efforts of truth and reconciliation commissions all over the world
