Presentations and panel discussions from the mediation conference are provided on six major topics. These include problem solving through mediation, the community board concept, relationship of mediation to the justice system, the professional mediator, and mediators’ continuing education needs. The most prevalent structure for alternative dispute resolution, the neighborhood justice center, is discussed, and the directions in which mediation is headed in the 1980’s are considered.
