Insight consists of a series of occasional papers produced by the Jubilee Policy Group. This number highlights the topic of relational justice and the work of the Jubilee Policy Group in this sphere. A relational justice perspective emphasizes that crime is a breakdown in relationships, generating harm and fear, and fragmenting communities. The need then is to repair relationships damaged by crime, particularly between the victim and the offender. In this issue are an introduction to relational justice, a review of a book called Relational Justice: Repairing the Breach, and a set of goals for penal reform from a relational justice approach.
Your donation helps Prison Fellowship International repair the harm caused by crime by emphasizing accountability, forgiveness, and making amends for prisoners and those affected by their actions. When victims, offenders, and community members meet to decide how to do that, the results are transformational.
