Report on ERA conference on restorative justice

The Academy of European Law Trier (ERA) held a conference in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on restorative justice, October 25-26, 2001. Christa Pelikan reports on the conference in this article. Participants in the conference included judges, prosecutors, police, and academics from several European countries, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland. The program provided an introduction to restorative justice theory and practice, an overview of restorative justice developments in various European countries and within the European Union, and a presentation about and discussion of restorative justice developments in Northern Ireland specifically.
