This extract from Restore (Restorative Justice Exchange newsletter, April 2002) reports on the national restorative justice hui–Te Ara Hou–held in West Auckland in March 2002. More than one hundred people including community and court representatives attended from around New Zealand as well as experts from overseas. Discussions focused on how community-based processes run alongside the government’s court-referred pilot programme.
