Using data from the South Australian Juvenile Justice Project, Daly discusses the meaning of punishment and whether or not it is relevant to restorative process. She refers to a survey of young people after conferences. The researcher asked both open and closed ended questions about the meaning of punishment. The researcher also asked whether or not elements of the conference were a punishment.
