Charles Clark is the Deputy Chief Constable for the Essex Police and the chair of the ACPO Restorative Justice Working Group. In this conference presentation he previews the forthcoming launch of an ACPO publication “Restorative Justice Investigated.â€? The publication is an examination of many of the basic issues surrounding the introduction of restorative justice into mainstream practice. Clark surveys the document and its contents: the nature of the ACPO working group; a brief history of restorative justice; the concept and practice of restorative justice; implementation of restorative justice; and training and evaluation for restorative justice.
