The Church Council on Justice and Corrections is a coalition of churches oriented around promotion of restorative justice in the Canadian criminal justice and correctional systems. This document consists of a short (four page) introduction to restorative justice. It presents the philosophy and principles of restorative justice for the general public. It includes a section on what justice is, a comparison of the current Canadian approach to criminal justice with restorative justice, examples of restorative justice in practice, and information on getting involved in restorative justice.
