According to this article, the American Bar Association (ABA) is undertaking a comprehensive review of its Model Code of Judicial Conduct in efforts to accommodate the changing world in which judges work. For example, the ABA commission charged to make the review is addressing the way judges should relate to pro se litigants (litigants who represent themselves in legal proceedings). Also, the commission is considering the extent to which judges assigned to courts that follow restorative justice or problem-solving approaches should be permitted to interact with community organizations that provide services in their juridisctions.
