It requires enormous strength to keep in
contact with a family member who has harmed.
Maintaining a relationship often entails enduring
not only reminders of the trauma of crime, but
the resulting court process and the aftermath of
violence. It is a lonely road for an offender’s
family. The early intervention of RJ initiatives
has the potential to mitigate further harm
and heal those who have been hurt. (excerpt)
