Restorative justice (RJ) is a part of my therapeutic healing based on my spiritual beliefs and
life values. The four offenders I met have been
working on the restorative process since their
incarceration and are serious about their rehabilitation. I believe that both the offenders and
the victims are affected by the same extreme
event. I believe that we follow the same path to
move past it as we hit rock bottom in our suffering and emerge by forgiving one another and
making amends with ourselves so that we can
free ourselves from our own internal prisons. (excerpt)

When victims, offenders, and community members meet to decide how to do that, the results are transformational.
