Judge Robertson outlines the sentencing options for juveniles throughout Australia. This ranges from conferencing to mandatory sentencing. Robertson also compares the system to New Zealand’s. He stresses the need to be creative in sentencing young offenders and to avoid the retribution/ rehabilitation model stressed by the mainstream.
