Sheffield’s Community Justice Team have been operating Community Justice panels (aka Neighbourhood Justice Panels) since June 2009. The aim of the panels is to bring offenders and victims together to resolve conflict and harm caused by anti-social behaviour and crime. At the panels offenders are encouraged to acknowledge the impact of what they have done and to make amends to the victim and wider community by apologising and engaging in reparative work. (excerpt)
