This is the initial issue of Sken:nen A’Onsonton, a newsletter of the Kahnawake Justice Commission. The name of the newsletter means “to become peaceful again,â€? and the focus of the newsletter is on “planting the seeds of peace.â€? The aim of the commission is a return to traditional justice in Kahnawake. Through various small pieces, the newsletter introduces alternative dispute resolution, restorative justice, and a comparison/contrast of Western style criminal justice and traditional justice.
