Dr. David Pedro discusses the need for justice reform in Latin America. With brief descriptions of the many social issues facing the region and their link to criminal justice, he sets out to describe reform efforts and continued needs. A brief section deals with the introdcution of restorative justice into the region. Alternative measures such as mediation and conciliation as well as traditional indigenous mechanisms for dispute resolution are stressed as possible remedies for the region.
